The sky is the limit ?
Through the variation of the Dutch weather we are by times blessed with fantastic sky views!
Especially in autumn and winter the clouds and sky can be awesome.
It is always fun to give it a go on drawing that !
Here some of my skies.................... well not my skies.
My drawings of some skies that is.
The first drawing was on a cloudy day with some sun.
I did not use lines , just watercolor.

For the next drawing , a few days after the last one, I used some pencil lines.
There was a kind of haze over the fields and hardly any clouds in the sky, very difficult to grab that in a drawing, especially with temperatures a few degrees above freezing.

On a traintrip on dec the 16 th 2017 I drew some skies from the view out of the trainwindow in 4 little drawings.
Starting at the right hand top of the page ( I am a lefty) It was quite dark but on my next drawing there is some light appearing.. At the last drawing ( left -under) ther is a burst of sunlight, reflected back by the clouds. Hard to get , but fun to do !

An Amsterdam affair...
On the eleventh of the eleventh month I joined a very nice sketch afternoon in Amsterdam.
Well organised by Koosje Koene of the USK Amsterdam !
The sketchers met at cafe "de Jaren ".
During the trip to Amsterdam I tried to fill up a page in my A6 Pink Pig sketchbook:

Being a lefty I started at the bottem right with a small sketch of the kiosk at Rotterdam CS were i got my first coffee of the day.
Then I made up the landscap on the bottem left .
I drew that partly by memory from what I saw out of the train-window.
During the 20 minute walk from the station to the meeting place I saw a canal-bridge and I could not resist drawing it...............
The last corner of the paper was filled at the cafe.
Already a group of sketchers was at the cafe and among them there was a very nice group of sketchers from England ! It was great meeting them!
But, we got out to draw some Amsterdam !!
There is so much to see, dunno were to start😃

The next sketch I drew in two steps. I started outside, but then there was some serious rain but I found a dry place at the covered terras of cafe "Amstelhoek ". I had a nice beer ( Brand Porter, fantastic) and a view over the river, so I finished my drawing inside....

I made a small drawing of some duck-like birds in the Amsterdam "grachten" and filled the page back at cafe "de Jaren" were we gathered at the end of the afternoon to show our sketches to each other, which I think is just as fun as drawing !

Time flies......
"Time flies", he said, and threw his watch through the room.
But it really does.
Time .
Flying.
November already begun and nothing blogged in october......

Then a sketchcrawl in Gouda.
I made some drawings of the St Jan cathedral.

There was a kind of medieval festival , with lots of people dressed in appropiate clothing.
I drew some of their heads !
However fun a traintrip can be, when there is a problem , there can be a lot of waiting time...
So why not use it to draw!
Here is a drawing I made at Tilburg station , during more than one hour delay:
At my daily job I picked up drawing technical items during lunchtime again, I could fill one page this month:

At the end of the month I drew with a group of Rotterdam Urban Sketchers in the museum of natural history. I was a bit afraid i would not like to draw stuffed animals, nevertheless it was great fun !
Drawing those dead animals somehow makes them coming alive a bit.....
